[TheForge] OT -- HF 3 kW generator on sale

Thanks Bruce :)  Unrelated to the generator, does anyone have experience
using small winches (like the 12V truck or ATV model also on that coupon
list) to move equipment and materials [horizontally] around their shop?
When I think about my plans for drilling anchors in my shop floor (mostly
for the post vices), I visualize having some anchors near the walls to help
me shuffle equipment around, at least on those exciting occasions when heavy
tools come or go—or hopefully for larger future projects.
I've seen come-alongs used this way... and I imagine block and tackle setups
were common yesteryear, but has anyone been using small winches?  I have a
~1500 sqft solo hobby shop with a hoist on a rail and numerous tools which
benefited from that, so the context is in doing more with less on my own;
admittedly not that of the high-end pro shop :)
