The ram guides are sheets of UHMW Polyethylene held in place by set 
screws.  Definatley something I will check out when I run it next.

Air cylinder?  Possibly.  It doesn't have that much time on it, and I've 
always run it with the oiler going.  It also has a floating connector 
(blanking on the name) between the cylinder and the ram.  Don't know if 
that might be part of the cause or not.

I'll check to see what feels warm the next time it does it.  I'm hoping to 
get some shop time in this weekend.
