Nah, I just tried it on a few washers as they were what I had to work
with and the washer store is 20 miles in the wrong direction. The EPA
guys do something with it along with used oil, coolant, acid, etc. Zinc
oxide = sunscreen, zinc chromate for paint and zinc tablets as a dietary
supplement. They used to give the old battery acid to radiator shops to
clean the brass tanks on the old copper radiators

Let me amend that. Burning it off outdoors is relatively safe if you
wear a decent respirator, keep your head out of the smoke, resist doing
it as a demonstration for, let's say, a group of 2nd graders, or making
sure you are not doing enough of it to send a cloud of death through
your neighborhood.
