I have... erm, *had* three "acquired" children - long story.  On 9/11/07 
my "son" Prescott McDaniel chose to get into a car with five other 
people, the driver of which was drunk out of his mind.  Forensics 
indicated the car hit the trees at about 115 mph in an area of Williams 
AZ where 40 mph was pretty much the limit.  All but one died in that 
event.  Not a good day for any of us.

I was not acquainted with this young man or his kin, but my empathy is 
with them all.
