I'm waiting for some scientific research paper that proves that
cussing gets the job done right. It's common wisdom, but yet to be
demonstrated scientifically (AFAIK).

After all, everybody knows to "keep your eye on the ball". Now WHY
should it matter that you keep your eye on the ball AFTER you pitch
it, or hit it, or strike it with your cue stick. But it DOES, and
everybody knows it.

Magic is real. It's the work of mages. Anything YOU don't understand
is magic. In the Middle Ages, clockwork was magic. For most people
these days, magic includes everything from electric lights to
supercomputers. In fact, computer programming uses magic words and
incantations all the time. Just try getting one wrong, and the demon
breaks out of the Pentium and ransacks the works.
