Oh Jerry, i woulda cheated!
The pipe was curved 180* and embossed from the outside.
I have a cheapie mechanical pipe expander, which worked on the ends
as far in as i could run a socket- swivel-extender,-ratchet assembly.
I tried improvising a flex drive for the expander, but couldn't transmit enough torque,
and not cause extra distortion.
I braised a big ball on a piece of cable and dragged it through forcibly but it was messy.
All the while i was furiously thinking of all the nifty special purpose tools
i could make to solve the problem and how long it would take to make them.
