I disagree cats are 'evil foul beasts'.  Cats are clean, highly intelligent, independent, creative, and exquisitely designed predators.  They have an amazing range of vocalizations, which, if you listen, can communicate quite well.  I have one which hangs with me in the smithy, and is a fine companion.

Cats are evil foul beasts that pee in the corner and scratch the door jams.  On the other hand, so far I have found 3 that are worthy of my time.  Two of which I have (or they have me!) today.  Found another toy mouse in bed this morning, and another on the floor.
