[TheForge] OT -- 59 mm Acme thread fittings?

They're pretty standard-looking Acme threads. Squarish, with the
usual slope on either side.
Curiously, I was considering making my own female connector to these
mail threads by wrapping a "wire" (not necessarily a metal wire) into
the threads and gluing that into a "box" (cylinder), just like is done
in leg vises (but brazed in that application). Similar idea to
Pete's, but with possibly stronger threads. I don't know that it
makes any difference.
