For those things I'd be thinking abrasives, grinder, sanding disks, 
floppies, just to spot clean the joints and areas that would be hard to 
blast clean later. The rest can be sand blasted after assembly.
That coating will do its job of protecting the metal from sweat and 
other things that could leave rusted areas that would require special 
effort to clean up.
