A spit jack consists of two major parts: One is the clockwork mechanism that turns the spit. This mechanism is usually vertical and the turning is nearly 360 degrees clockwise followed by nearly 360 degrees counterclockwise. The second part consists of various hangers and hooks. I made several a couple of years ago. One hanger would hold a single large chicken of a smallish roast. The other could h old three small chickens or cornish hens. If you will send me an address, I'll send you copies of my sketches.
