If I've had to pull an all-nighter or had a sleepless night for some
other reason (happily a rare occurrence), I make it a rule not to use
*any* power tools till I've had a good night's sleep.  Fortunately, I
don't have commitments that tempt me to break that rule.  I don't have
a lathe but a drill press or wire wheel or, especially, a chainsaw [1],
can penalize a moment's inattention equally well.
