[TheForge] sheet metal brake

I just uploaded pictures of my brake dies to a folder labeled Sheetmetal
brake.
Because my press has such a large ram I needed a blade that was at least 4
1/2" long to give me clearance. The closest thing I had was a section of
grader blade which was 1/2" x 5 1/4". The hardest part of the project was
flattening out the camber in the grader blade. It took a lot of heat to get
something that big hot enough. I also forged the edge of the blade to
center it on the bar. Not knowing what the blade is made of I anneled it in
vermiculite before welding.
So far I have just bent a couple of test pieces, it did them with ease. I
may have to add a spacer to the V block if I want to do a bend close to the
edge of a sheet, I guess I'll see. By spacer, I mean another piece of angle
iron with shorter sides which would put the center line closer to the edge.
I've thought about doing this for a couple years, so most of the design has
been worked out in my head just waiting to be implimented.
