I just finished making sheet metal brake dies for my hydrolic press. The
forging dies are 2"x 6" so I wasn't sure how much longer I could make the
brake dies. I ended up making them 11" long. I have room to slide the metal
in a little further and I could reverse pieces to bend from both ends, so I
think if I had to I could make a 30" bend. Curently the longest bend I need
to make is 16" so I should be OK.
I have a small pan brake designed to make HVAC duct work but it flexes when
I try to use it on the 16ga and 14ga stuff that I usually work with.
