Just a factoidal observation: 10 years ago, nobody I talked to [1] in
Nova Scotia knew what an English wheel was. But a month or so ago, I
saw that Princess Auto [2] was selling them. I was tempted to buy one
just for messing about with even though I have no projects in mind
that need it. But I'm getting wedged in the shop. Any NS readers
want to buy a heavy 4'x4' oak dining table? Crappy but usable platform
rocker thrown in for free. I need the space.

[1] Of course, I don't get out and quiz the whole NS metalworking
community on a weekly basis but, some opinions notwithstanding,
    I'm not *entirely* a troglodyte.

[2] Similar, I think, to that Harbor Fright place y'all in the USA go
to. Good consumables, use-and-throw-away power tools, high
quality hydraulics, anvil-shaped objects -- a very mixed bag with
    many good bargains.
