Want to see english wheel work?  Wray Schelin is the man.  None better
on the planet.  I would go so far as to say he rewrote the book on the
english wheel and is pretty well responsible to its revival as a tool in
the automobile restoration biz.  His shop is cool - builds his own
english wheels.  Compared to what is commercially available, his are
rude beasts.  Large, heavy, and very rigid compared to anything else.

I watched Wray raise an annealed aluminum panel into something
resembling a bowl.  He then challenged the notion of "work hardening"
and proceeded to take the now-stiff aluminum and return it to almost
dead flat and soft as it had been.  I must confess that had I not
watched him do it hisownself I would have thought him taking too many
sips off the jug.

Wray also holds classes on this sort of work.  It really is an amazing
craft.
