[TheForge] Jesse James and Hofi

Whoa, Dan, you sound like 70 is old- I'm past that and at last count you
were not that far behind me (-:]> Actually, I think Tom was 75 when he
was kicking butt in the hammering contests and he showed his method to
everyone who would pay attention. I think it was 2007 at Madison when I
gave him the 6" piece of round bar for his "handicap" as a joke. Some
people thought it was unfair for him to compete because he used that
weird technique and always won. I said "Hell, no, he gets to play with
the rest of us". If you haven't tried it, don't knock it; I'm open to
suggestion. I even learned a lot from you over the years.

Richard,
You can be closed minded if you want, but I at least tried it(the Hofi
hammering method). It is nice to be able to make a hammer like that,
and
,no, I wouldn't buy one, but I did earn one working @ a conference. I
like
it. Catch myself using my regular hammer w/ that grip. Easier on the
arm/elbow/shoulder.
Sounds like you might be jealous of the money being made. Sour grapes.
It's
not "all bullcrap", it's marketing. So, you formed such deep opinions of

someone in watching only five minutes. WOW.
Personally, if a 70 year old can whoop all the younger entrants in a

drawing-out contest, I'm gonna at least try it before I show my a$$.

for better blacksmithing,
Dan
