I remember helping to brew up a batch of home made nitro glycerine and the major worry of the chemist was NOT that he'd blow us all up, but that his mom would find out he ruined one of her good spoons. 



PS - the nitro was unsuccessful, just a poof of smoke when shot with an arrow....... 



On the bright side, I don't have to do any more stupid things because I did most of them before I was 18yo.

Jumpin Jiminy... you were about as demented as I was, though one of my 
passions was actually blowing shit up.  My home brewed version of napalm 
B made for many cheap thrills.  At today's prices, however, perhaps not 
so cheap.
