[TheForge] Spring steel (and other) breaking in mild acid

Would that be sufficient to cleve used tool steel with a mild acid?
Not talking about just added embrittlement.
Always wondered about the steel tanks containing pressurized hydrogen too.
Familiar with it in welding.
