[TheForge] OT Re: NYT B Smithing reference

First post here...

It truly is a pity that I can't find something to do that keeps me away from
the idiot box. Just getting started with blacksmithing and really looking
forward to see what I can conjure up from this pile of steel I was fortunate
enough to find on Craig's List for next to nothing.

So, I find this forum with a mailing list that seems like it is supposed to
be about this truly noble endeavor and look what happens? Flame wars! The
whole "Fox News" Obama and everything else political is what drove me into
the garage in the first place. Anybody who thinks for one minute that the
problem has ANYTHING to do with left vs. right really has ZERO clue! Why
don't we take a step back, breath, relax and then try to remember that life
is, and always has been a right vs. wrong thing. Trying to intellectualize
the whole left / right thing only exposes one's ability to eloquently
verbalize his own stupidity. If you prefer to compare the southbound end of
a northbound elephant to the northbound end of a southbound jackass, there
are plenty of forums designed for exactly that! 

I desperately hope that this is NOT one of them!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I will try and enjoy the nice little
"Smithy" I spent most of today trying to setup....

It's very much like Fox "News"....venom drips and falsehoods/Non 
sequitur abound but if anyone dares comments, the comment is some 
sort of unjustified attack, i.e., "oh poor me...sniffle".  Typically, 
I just hit the delete key when I see "Andrew Vida" in the header, but 
I thank you Ries for taking the effort.
