Andy, I know you live to provoke, but even for you, thats kind of stupid.
Obama's mother wrote a dissertation on rural blacksmithing in Indonesia.
The actual blacksmiths were helped by her- she gave gifts and grants to poor blacksmiths.
And the scholarship she did was helpful both to anthropologists and, potentially, to blacksmiths.
Regardless of what you think of the politics of her son, what is possibly "degenerate" about either rural blacksmiths in Java, or a woman who studies them, and has been dead for quite some time?
