Downloaded a backup utility from MS and apparently ran it, then
Ripped through my HD deleting all sorts of seemingly unrelated files
including parts of their AV program and it's own download file.
It messed about in the registry and elsewhere and seems to have
changed some settings and did some other stuff.
 Then it laid out an extensive report that i sent back to the 
Malwarebytes guy.
Goodness! By contrast, Trend Micro said " don't worry about it.
