I have been told there are two sides of an anvil the Blacksmith side and the
Fairer side.
The later has the hardy hole on the non hammer hand end of the anvil so you
can pound and not cut your knuckles with a hardy in place.
Not sure what to do if you have a European anvil with the hardy by the horn.
