Talked a little bit on the phone to someone who traveled to Rapid City
looking at the conference site.
Said plenty of room with lots of electrical boxes right beside where tents
could be set up
Plenty of room for the set up trailer
Dorm rooms available or lots of motels varying in price.
Nice room for the gallery with some other rooms
Thought the auction would be in an old barn but he did not think it had
animals for years.
Thought overall it was a very good site.
I believe he told me cost for rent was $10,000 and that Memphis was $5,000
more
Not sure what cost of tents, belchers, little one holers, tables chairs ect
compare with other locations but Rapid City is quite large and they are used
to partying with the Sturgis event every year.

As for things to do or see in the area other than the conference of course
there are the Black Hills and other tourist attractions, such as the Corn
Palace, Wall Drug ect.  It would not matter to me as every conference I go
to I hammered down both going and returning home and only saw head lights
and tail lights and the occasional gas station

I am ready to go but then I have been to 8 conferences and a couple of small
events already this year with 5 more events in the next 6 weeks.
