Very pure tungsten is workable but to do much forming it has to be
quite hot (over 2000 F) . At room temperature it is liable to break if
bent too much. Even slight levels of impurities make it significantly
more brittle, most TIG electrodes are alloyed with metallic oxides and
therefore are brittle. The exception is the pure tungsten rod used for
aluminum welding, it is more ductile.
