42 is not only the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the
Universe and Everything, it's also the sum of 19 and 23. 19 & 23 are
both odd and prime, so we're on the right track. 23 is the sacred
number of Eris, goddess of discord. [1] Looking good, eh? 19 is the
sum of 17 and 2. 17 is the "least random number" [1] among other
exciting and mind-boggling properties. [2] Okayyyy. And 2, well, in
any congregation of blacksmiths there's always at least 2 opinions on
any conceivable topic, even if the congregation in question consists
of a solitary blacksmith.
Oh, and 42 in binary is 10 10 10, which is a kind of fertilizer.
So yeah, peter, I'll go for 42.
