My experience with chinese made anvils is that they tend to be cast hollow and use lead shot to get the weight... I stay as far away from them as possible.

Well, in NJ you can get cheap Chinese anvils at Fazzio's any time you like. As one fellow asserted: "That's a better anvil than you are a blacksmith!" (True for many of us, but certainly not all.)
