[TheForge] Old tools

Yeah, I managed to stumble into a "like new" 112# Vulcan for just under a
buck a pound, no complaints at all about it other than it is a tad small for
my taste and I really don't care for the stubby horns they have. I recently
found a 165# PW for $1.25 / Lb. in quite useable shape, and you can bet your
life that when I get it, and decide to let the Vulcan go, I'm gonna let it
go for what I paid for it to one of the guys in our club who are still
beating on railroad track.

Subject: Re: [TheForge] Old tools

When I first got interested in BS-ing, was totally baffled- where in the
blue blazes would a person EVER find an anvil???
Then, a buddy gave (permanent loan) me a lovely Haybud 65 pounder, and I
bought the next two (Trentons) in the 2.50/3.00 range.
Now, since everyone in the neighborhood knows I do this work, I've got
another beautiful Swedish 90 on open ended loan (meaning I can't sell it
without permission) and another 89 American that I only use for finer
work- it looks new- that I traded for a camping cook set....they're out
there, just takes time to get your feelers out in the right direction.
Counting the ASO that's on the floor for a beat block, that's four of six
that were basically lying around my little town
