I needed to texture some stock yesterday so I went to put the texturing dies
on the power hammer. They weren't by the hammer so I looked by the treadle
hammer, not there either. By the welding table? no. In the grinding room?,
no. Under the bench?, no. I was starting to get concerned and a little
frustrated. It was almost noon so I found some busy work, and broke for
lunch.

Arter lunch I took another look in all the places where they mught have,
should have, been. No luck.

I decided to proceed with the texturing using the fullering dies which are a
bit too agrassive so I have to be real careful to use a light touch. When
texturing my second piece it hit me, they were in the vermiculite barrel.
The last time I used them, about a month ago, one of them chipped. I had
made them from sucker rod and had just normalized them. So this time after
fixind the chip I heated them up and stuck them in the vermiculite. And
there they were, waiting for me to put them back into use. I knew when I
couldn't find them, that when they showed up it would make sense, and it
did.
