How about using a havahart trap as a "doorway" into a chicken coop.
Leave it open (after chickens settle in for the night?) and allow the
coons to waltz right in -- to the trap.  I.e., the chickens themselves
are the bait for the trap.
Just an idea.  I don't know it would work.
