We found that the supply of predators is, practically speaking, unlimited.
Much easier to just hang old fishing net (which fortunately is in good 
supply here by the salt water) over the yard than to try to shoot everything 
in sight.
The girls pretty much love to be shut in their house at night, so that's not 
a big issue- they'd also love to have free run over the whole yard during 
the day, but that doesn't happen unless I'm there.

So we're down to about 40 birds.  Sucks.  I am, however, preparing to build 
a new bird house for everyone.  I'm hoping 12x20 will be enough.

BTW, the rooster the eagle was on came out without a scratch, but I found 
him on his back completely paralyzed from the terror.  He refused to leave 
the barn for about 5 days.  He's better now. :)
