[TheForge] Recommendations requested for attractions in MA, CT and maybe Hudson Valley

I'm traveling to MA for an event in mid-April and would like to string
together a number of attractions and make at least a week of it.

Already on the list:
Saugus (maybe - I've been there.)
Higgins Armory
Mystic Seaport
Possibly the Yale campus to see the Yellin gates - if it's not too
difficult to get in there

and maybe a lock museum in western CT or MA I've heard of, as well as
Shaker museums.

I'm looking for other suggestions.  Blacksmithing, ironworks,
glassworks, flint knapping, and many other crafts and trades are of
interest to me.  All suggestions appreciated.
