[TheForge] Holdfast Thanks

I too use holdfasts for woodworking and believe that the fit is pretty key.
The woodworking ones I use are made from 3/4 inch mild steel round bar but I
was limited to the size of the pritchel hole for the one for my anvil.  My
website has some photos of some woodworking holdfasts which I use a lot.
Although the anvil holdfast clamps well I don't find myself using it much.
I like the idea of using a chain across the anvil with a weight.

I use a similar holdfast for woodworking. When I take the board out from 
under the holdfast and forget to gently lower the holdfast to the bench, 
just the weight of it causes it to jam to the bench top. I cant pull the 
holdfast out without first hitting the back of it. I think the hole needs to

be close to the diameter of the holdfast. If there is a lot of slop, more 
difficult to get a good hold.
