Just to add my $0.02 -- If you can easily get your hands on a bar of
surfboard wax, it makes a cheap and convenient source of carnauba wax.

The majority of surfboard board wax is carnauba, with some coconut oil
to soften it. Some brands are formulated for different temperatures. The
hot-weather/tropical mix has a higher percentage of carnauba in it.

I've been fooling with different waxes for a home-made hand lotion. I
have rather sensitive skin and most soap just nukes my skin and
cuticles. Lotion helps a lot, but I just don't like the thick greasy
feel of all the stuff I've tried, and it all washes off far too easily.
I've come up with a formula that I like a lot. It's mostly beeswax, and
I've been experimenting with adding a bit of carnauba wax to see if I
can make it better.

BTW, if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll send you some of my
hand lotion from the next batch I make, in a month or so. It'll be free
-- I'd just like some feedback on it.
