Good forging coal is bituminous, a soft coal  with a nice mix of fines. I 
suspect the Woodstown coal is all anthracite, hard  coal. I only know one 
blacksmith who does all his forging with a hard coal  forge. 

I'm from PennsGrove and my folks lived in Alloway for a  while. Nice little 
town.

I am about 15  minutes from the Delaware memorial bridge in a small town
called allow but  you can get coal from woodstown ice and coal.
