We have a lot of Ohio Geese who can trace that roots to Canada. This year they
may started to become a protein source for my household.

We'll gladly give you some of our NJ Resident Canada geese! You'll
NEVER get rid of those!
NJ state govt. issues them green cards and won't let anyone shoot
them. They're actually a different variety from the migratory Canadas
- slightly larger & they never migrate. They just sit around, getting
fat and happy at NJ farmer's expense, leaving poop everywhere. They
even have larger clutches than the migratory ones, so their numbers
are out of control.
The problem is so bad that a new "predatory" species has evolved --
the flat black dog. You see these plywood hounds on any large lawn,
especially if there's water there. Apparently, they discourage the
flocks from landing. And they don't eat much, nor bark, nor shit.
OTOH, if MO already has resident geese, you can attract all you want
with a Megagoose decoy. (See para. 3 of
http://ezinearticles.com/?Focus-on-Goose-Decoys&id=3275409, for
example.)
