Jan woke me up early this morning to tell me that all our chickens were dead 
and there was a Fox walking off with one of them.  By the time I got my gun 
and got out there the fox was long gone.  I saw it twice more, and each time 
by the time I got out there it was gone.  The final time the fox took the 
time to chase off a cat that thought it would have chicken for breakfast. 
That was a fatal mistake, because by the time it got back to the dead 
chickens I was ready for it and put it down.

We are keeping an eye out to see if it's mate shows up, so far no sign of 
one. It makes me sick, 24 dead chickens.  I had always thought that fox 
would sneek in and take them one at a time, not kill the while batch at 
once.
