[TheForge] Earthquake NNW of Anchorage...

That isn't helping much Marc, the news and a couple folk I've talked to who 
felt it say it was between 5.1 and 5.5 on the Richter scale (depending on 
which news you're reading or listening to) and the USGS site says it was ML 
1.64.

However, knowing ML stands for local magniture is helpful but typically 
magnitude readings close to the event are much higher than from distant 
instruments and this one seems reversed. Maybe a big tree just got blown 
over on the instrument? Stupid TREES!

According to this
http://www.sciencedaily.com/articles/r/richter_magnitude_scale.htm they are
the same . ML is local magnitude just a different name. you say potatoes I
say potatoes. ( that doesn't work very well in type does it?)
