Another trick is NOT collecting lanolin from males during the rut!
An easy way to keep the oxy from degrading sensitive stuff is put the stuff
in a glass jar with a good sealing lid. When you use some of the stuff just
drop a lit match in the jar and close the lid. It'll REALLY prolong the
shelf life and a little woodsy smoke smell can be nice too.
