Frosty,

Neat trick, finishing with lanolin.  No way that will "contaminate" wool.

For what it's worth, lanolin is available at drug stores in tubes for
about $1.50.  (You can also get a $10 tube, but that's specially
refined to be odor-free, which doesn't matter in this case.)

You sure you had a grand mal?  Sounds like the vet missed with the
needle and stuck you instead of the dog!  8^)
