Dam son...glad to hear you are ok..
On a related note, our beloved Pepe the Daschund was suddenly paralyzed today and I held him as they administered the sleep aid. It is a TOUGH day today, especially for my wife as that was here buddy. We are now left w/the half blood hound half yellow lab who is a real love bug. But it pains us as a reminder of Pepe always sleeping on him and taunting him. This is going to hurt for a while. Especially fo me as I was witness to the moment he became paralyzed, was in agonizing pain and I couldn't help him. Praying to God that he reminds that little bundle of joy how much he was loved and will be missed.
Take Care
Mark

Thanks Mark, it's good to be kind and a sure sign of the truly strong among
us.
I'm making progress but had a setback about 3 weeks ago. I had a grand mal
seizure, fortunately Deb and our Vet were there so I wasn't injured again
and got taken care of. The episode is more disturbing than my recovery till
then, there was no warning at all. One second I was sitting there holding
Libby's head in my lap while she snored and drooled on me and the next thing
I knew I was waking up in another hospital. I'm getting REALLY tired of
waking up in hospitals. It's better than the alternative of course but . . .
STILL. I was only days away from taking my driver's recertification test so
I could operate a motor vehicle on public roads again but that's put off for
another 6 months now. I'm just very happy the seizure didn't wait till I was
driving again. Hurting people isn't my thing.
Part of the story, Libby was the dog that barked loudly and urgently enough
to get Deb's attention in the house when I got hit by the tree. Without her
I'd be a memory. The hard part was she turned out to have bone cancer and we
kept her as comfortable as possible with pain meds but she was fading and
knew she was sick. That day was her time, we were letting her go and the vet
had just given her the sleepy shot and was inserting the final injection
when I checked out.
At least I got to thank Libby for my life, tell her she was a good girl and
I love her again. Normally I would've held and loved on her till she took
her last breath and a bit but not this time. At least she was sleeping and
out of pain.
