As I looked at this video of Henry Ford ..driving his machine.. I imagined
two sets of old 100 pound lp cyclinders  butt welded together ( 4 used) 
with spiral bands of steel welded on the outside.. but rather than roller
chain.. powered by hydraulics with controls like on my skid loader.  
Pretty Cool watching the old vid.

Besides his tractor, Henery adapted this to both Chevy and Ford cars of
the time.  Betting the reason it didn't really become a sale stopper in
the North Country was the early onset of the Great Depression his the
rural "snowy" lands a bit earlier.
