Howdy folks, I just came across this in print, thanks to my parents' broad
interests (and their subscription to the National Parks magazine).
It is about the unique history of Hopewell Furnace, just southwest of
Reading, Pennsylvania, and not only has a neat drawing of their operations
but highlights that it was "an early, uncelebrated oasis of enlightened
stewardship and civil rights.", both a stop on the underground railroad not
terribly far from the Mason-Dixon line and also an early example of the
"equal pay for equal work" concept.
Enjoy, and Happy New Year!
