I know a lot of people have opinions about HF, but Sears Craftsman tools aren't
that much better. I have my father set of Craftsman socket wrenches from the
1930s, they have lasted and lasted. The new set I got about 10 years ago lasted
about 4 months.
When the HF opened up near me, the store would give me replacements off the
rack, Sears would give people replacement from the backroom that are rebuilt
tools.
I wore out a couple of files that were Sears Craftsman brand. I took them back
to Sears, the department manager said they only sell those particular files in
sets. I said that they were Craftsman, guaranteed for life. He wouldn't bundge
on replacing them, so I asked for the store manager, suddenly I was given the
set of files as my replacement. I remember when Sears was a no hassle place that
you could get a good value for your money. Now it seems to be junk.

That's good.
HF is very much a mixed bag. Some of the tools i got from them died
within a week, others i got from them 25 years ago are still going strong.
