This may be so, but it is rendered irrelevant by their dishonesty and
ongoing secrecy. Last I heard, they were still refusing to release
their models, and I mean the code. They used public information and
monies, yet keep secrets. They "massaged" the raw data but refuse to
reveal how.

This brand of reasoning is wholly fallacious. I agree with developing
other energy sources but not mandating them and banning what we have.
This whole deal stinks to high heaven, what with the cap and trade
nonsense, which is such a bald-faced scam that I can barely believe
anyone with a pulse and not in a permanent vegetative state would buy
into it... except those who stand to make uncounted trillions off the
deal, of course. The changes proposed stand to screw a lot of people
and cost untold sums. Making such changes based on opinions that are
suspect at best is idiotic to a fault. Let the free market take care of
this. It has always found the better solutions.
As for the slack tub deal, wooden barrels are pretty good in my
experience. I suppose a hoop could pop, especially if the tub freezes
solid, but unless you're living in some ridiculously cold place like
Minnesota where winter is 364 days, 23 hours and 26 minutes long and the
average temperature is 8 degrees below absolute zero, you may not have
trouble with it. I've yet to see one break from cold. We had 13 1/2
feet of snow last year and it was FOOKIN' cold. My two oak tubs were
full most of the way and nothing broke.
