	First, McCarthy was dead-nuts on.  He was a good man and was eaten 
alive in the pit of vipers.  Let there be no mistake about it, he was 
absolutely correct in EVERY single allegation made.  There is not a 
single exception to this.  Not even one.

	That aside, in all conflict between human rights and other issues, 
rights always prevail.  All political considerations must yield to the 
rights of the individual.  No exceptions.  Ever.  Period.  The moment 
you make the first exception you have, in principle, opened the doors 
for tyranny.  Any institutionalized violation of any human right, 
regardless of how seemingly trivial, constitutes tyranny.  Either men 
are free or they are slaves.  There is NOTHING in between.  There is no 
such thing as "degrees" of freedom.  Freedom is absolute and 
indivisible.  Slavery, on the other hand, comes in shades.  Pretty 
slavery is ever so seductive because the prices people pay for the deign 
of their masters appears worthwhile to them... until the masters change 
their minds about things.  That's when the real price comes into clearer 
view.
