We buy bagged coal for around $35/ton from the local Amish. I use it in a
coal stove in the shop and we have a coal stove in the basment. These are
new stoves that put good heat out. The house stove also has a water heating
coil on it. All the Amish homes in our area heat with coal.
The coal comes from the Pocahontas area in PA.
For the last three years, it has been cheaper every year.

Larry,

That is an amazing price. Have you used it in your forge, or is it strictly
suited for heating.
Is West Central the name of your town, or a general location? BAM's coal is
stored in Desoto which is East Central MO.
