Cumberland Elkhorn Coal & Coke in Louisville, KY, has excellent blacksmithing coal. They sell in bulk, but also had it available in 50 lb begs.

This whole thing has caught us by surprise. BAM is limiting how much coal
each member can get from the group's supply. We expect that we will be
totally out before a new source is found.
I have a local quary that hit a vein of coal. They are selling it real
cheep, so I thought I would give it a try and got 100 lbs. It worked ok
when I mixed it with my Pocahonas coal. I tried working with it by itself
earlier this week, what a desaster. It would get nice and hot, but by the
time I got a good working base the fire pot was full of clinker. I basicly
had to clean my fire and start over every hour.
