We used to have pellet gun fights with a couple rules. No aiming above the 
waist and no more than 4 pumps. 4 pumps on a .22 caliber Corssman or 
Benjamin would just sting with little more than a small welt through doubled 
jeans but I shoot a 5mm. Sheridan and four pumps is enough to go through 
both pair of jeans and put a hurt on ya. I had a 2 pump rule. We'd wear two 
pair of jeans, a sweat shirt under an army field jacket, a WWI leather 
flying ace helmet ala Snoopy, a full face motor cycle helmet over that, 
goggles and a denim scarf. We didn't want to kill anyone, just sting the 
target enough they couldn't bluff a "miss." Every now and then a newby might 
over pump their pellet gun but there's nothing like 6 pumps on a Sheridan to 
convince them that was a BAD idea, 6 pumps would penetrate a good 1/2" into 
a leg through two pair of jeans.

Nobody took a head shot at anyone, EVER we had a demo motor cycle helmet 
with a number of through holes for new guys joining the game so they 
wouldn't be tempted. Nothing like air rifle tag for an afternoon's 
neighborhood good times.
