Relatives of mine in Amarillo ran a family business called Fisher
Butane in the 50s. Living, as I have since I was 6, in the northeast,
I never saw any biz advertising butane, only propane.
I occasionally wondered if the the blistering Texas sun made it
inconvenient to store propane where average outdoor tank temperatures
would be higher. OTOH, it goes, at least occasionally, below 31F in
the Panhandle so I remain unclear on just what my uncle and cousins
were selling. Maybe just a higher butane/propane ratio?
FWIW,
