Once you have the virus cleared off, it would be a good idea to download
the AVG rescue disk here:

http://www.avg.com/ie-en/avg-rescue-cd

and the Kaspersky disk here:

If you can't clean the system, have a friend download and burn these
disks and then run them yourself. Best if you have internet access when
running these as they will update the av files when they run if they
have 'net access.

These disks will allow you to clean a totally hosed system, as they boot
from the CD and run in memory and don't need the OS on the hard drive.
Make sure the boot from CD is enabled in the bios.
They are not quick, but they are through and free.
I know macs don't get sick but take a look here for a laugh:

I use windows 2k, XP, and 7 and dual boot with Ubuntu on two of the
systems. I use a gateway (small g) router and Microsoft Security
Essentials. plus regular scans with ad aware and spybot.
I realize that's a lot of trouble compared to the Mac... but one of
these days mac's are going to be discovered by the Chinese hackers...
head for cover when that happens.
All this just so I can run Autocad...
